Collections: BMW 2002 - part 2

This post is just a follow on to my first post about the Hot Wheels BMW 2002 model that debuted in 2012. Pictured here is my latest find for 2013, which is the BMW casting shimmering in metallic blue. Another winner!  If you missed my other post you can find it here: http://hwpics.blogspot.ca/2012/11/collections-bmw-2002.html

First Issue 2012: Hot Ones 1987 Toyota Pickup

I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw this beauty at ToysRUs.  This lifted 87 Toyota pickup is from the latest Hot Wheels 2012 Hot Ones series.  It's a brand new casting which I hope Mattel uses again and again. This beefy truck is ready to tackle the urban jungle with it's giant skidplate, flared fenders, side step rails and roof mounted spotlights.  White Toyota logos adorn the sides and tailgate. Even the mirrors and windshield wipers are there!  Sheer perfection!

First Issue 2012: 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

I picked up the latest Hot Wheels Volkswagen Beetle at Target this week amongst some other newly released cars. Not sure if this one is considered as part of the 2012 or 2013 release. I think Mattel did a great job on capturing the proportions of the Beetle quite nicely.

Lots of excellent detailing including VW badging on front and rear,  dual exhaust, rear spoiler, door handles, side mirrors and even the little shark fin antennae.  The headlights and taillights are tampo'd and the licence plate says HTWLS. I'm definitely looking forward to upcoming recolours.  I give this one 10 out of 10!  Have you found this one yet?

Collections: BMW 2002

In 2012, Mattel debuted the new Hot Wheels BMW 2002 in it's mainline series.  The orange one showed up first in January 2012, and then followed by the white one shortly thereafter, both sporting racing liveries.
Late in 2012, the newest green version showed up as a 2013 mainline in a more stock form.  Love the castings but sure wish they had detailed the front and rear grill, headlights and taillights.  I think this is all of them as of this writing.  Do you have all of the BMW 2002s?

First Issue 2012: Mazda RX-7

Just found these new Hot Wheels at the stores.  The black Mazda RX 7 is the new 2012 single and the blue one can be found in various Hot Wheels ten car packs.  It's nice to see some brand new castings.  Looks like Hot Wheels is going to focus a lot on the imports this year.

First Issue 2012: 1971 El Camino

This new 71 El Camino is the best casting Hot Wheels has put out in a long time.  This machine is all about power.  The rear bed is loaded up with 2 whopping jet engines!  Can you say outrageous?!  An incredible amount of detail and I believe this casting is based on a real car.
