Collections: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T

With the recent release of the Fast and Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, Hot Wheels has now produced four different colours, starting with the purple and orange in 2011, followed by the lime green in 2012, and lastly the black one this year 2013.  I'm not crazy about the chrome interiors and wish they had used the dark gray interior on all the models just like the lime green version.

Heeding the advice of all my loyal readers here, I used a black marker on the front grille and a red one for the taillights.  Do they look better now?  Let me know!

Spotlight: 3 Window 1934 Ford

This Hot Wheels 1934 Ford 3 Window was the only one in the dump bin at Walmart.  I thought for sure it might be a treasure hunt, but no, it's just one of the 2013 Mainlines.  The eye-catching seafoam blue makes this cool rod really pop.  Can you believe that the last time this car was issued in a mainline series was back in 2006?  It's nice to see it even still retains the metal chassis and engine!

Now I surely can't say that I'm a fan of tampo'd Hot Wheels but for some reason these two really caught my eye.  Maybe it's the metallic green paint of the 64 lincoln continental convertible or the metallic purple finish of the 65 pontiac bonneville.  The designs are really eye-catching and are complimentary colour schemes.
If you noticed that the lincoln has a little round logo of a flame, that's the indicator that this car is a treasure hunt.   What do you think of these two cars from the 2013 Graffiti series?  Love 'em or leave 'em?

Spotlight: 2013 Toyota AE-86 Corolla

The Hot Wheels Toyota AE-86 Corolla has hit the shelves here in Canada.  This casting is part of the 2013 Nightburnerz series.  Love the left hand drive and the cool Japanese Katakana on the sides of the vehicle. I believe this is based on a real car.  This casting initially came out in 2006, and reappeared briefly in 2010.  I'm glad Mattel is making more use of this excellent model.

Recolour: 2013 BMW M3

Although this Hot Wheels BMW M3 made it's debut in 2011, I've only just recently acquired my first one, the 2013 recolour.  It originally came out in pearl white and then maroon red.  I like the tampos on the front end but wish Mattel had added some detailing or taillights to the rear and side markers.
