Spotlight: 2013 GM Chevroletor

This yellow Hot Wheels 2013 Chevroletor was one of the cars in the Walmart 9 car packs I picked up last week. Chevroletor is based on a combination of the 1957 Chevrolet Corvette SS and several speed record cars from the 1930s. Designed by Amaury Diaz-Serrano in 2008.

First Issue 2013: Rescue Duty and Repo Duty

At first I thought the all new 2013 Hot Wheels castings called Rescue Duty and Repo Duty had the same chassis but I was wrong.  While the two vehicles look almost identical, there are subtle differences in the grille and roofline.  I might swap out the wheels of the Rescue Duty and put 5 spokes on it to match it up to the Repo Duty.  Now I need to find the Mega Duty and Diesel Duty trucks to complete my set.  Both of these trucks look great at the race track.

Models: Rescue Duty, Repo Duty

First Issue 2013: 70s Chevelle

The first thing that caught my eye about the new Hot Wheels 2013 70's Chevelle SS was the sky blue paint job with the gulf logo.  I had seen a garage done up in the same blue during my trip to Peru, so I attempted to reproduce something similar for the background shot. I really like the lowered stance of this brand new casting.

First Issue 2013: 1992 BMW M3

The new Hot Wheels 1992 BMW M3 was introduced in 2012 and hit the mainline series in 2013, first in the silver gray, and now in the new metallic blue colour.  I like the new smoke grey tinted windows a lot better, in that you can actually see the interior now.  I wish Mattel had detailed the head lights and tail lights, but I do like the spoiler details and the rear tailpipes.  Excellent graphics too!

First Issue 2013: Flintmobile

Just taking a road trip in the brand new 2013 BC Hot Wheels Flintmobile.  I think this vehicle must have been built in Flint Michigan.    Here is the Flintmobile on it's inaugural drive across the newly built Route 66 on the way to the town of Bedrock.  I think the term ragtop originated with this vehicle.  The seats are definitely built for racing, you can tell by how firm they are. Now where the heck is that rest stop anyways?  Need big stick to beat down any dinosaurs one might encounter on the way.

Series: 2013 Mainline
Casting: 070

First Issue 2013: 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S

First Look: 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S

Let's take a first look at the new casting for the 2013 Hot Wheels Showroom series - the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S.  Wrapped in a beautiful metallic purple paint, it is contrasted nicely by the Mopar emblem on white background.  It is parked next to the 2012 version of the 68 Hemi Barracuda pictured above and seemingly shares the same chassis, front headlight bezels and backend casting details. Which is your favorite, the fastback or the notchback?
